Whether you’re a Christian, Jew, Muslim or Atheist, we are all curious to know if there is life after death. Do we get reincarnated? Do we go to Heaven or Hell? All these ideas as to what happens exist, but no one really knows the answer. All you can really do in this world is get busy living or get busy dying.
What do you think happens to us when we die?
Heya playas, today I want to cover a topic that I feel most of us shy away from. It’s inevitable that one day we will all die. But the question we’re afraid to ask and even more so afraid to know the answer to is does life exist after death? The biggest fear we have about asking that question is that no one can give you a correct answer. We all have our theories and speculations but not one person has completely gone off the deep end and come back to talk about it. Not to discriminate against death here but it’s not really something we look forward to.
Sure we can brush off the determined fate set for us but the majority of people live their lives completely ignorant of the realities of death. Have you ever heard someone say live every day as if it was your last? How many people actually do that? It’s hard for us to keep this mindset because our natural lives pull us back into the normal timeline of living. For the most part, we remained future-oriented always assuming that tomorrow brings a new day never realizing just how easy it can all go poof. Stop, that’s too depressing to talk about. Surely there is something we can tell ourselves.
Something to help us keep our lives from being meaningless and knowing that our decisions actually lead up to something great. Some people believe in the concept of heaven and hell. That life is determined by a heads and tails coin flip that we’ll go either up or down. And we can’t really put all of our eggs in that basket because just like we said earlier, no one really knows the exact truth of what’s gonna happen. Some people will tell you that we’ve become reincarnated, that our molecules breakdown and become one with the earth and become spread everywhere. That is a fascinating concept, the only question I have is which earthworm or dung beetle carry my consciousness?
The only reason we seek an afterlife is for pure comfort. It feels so good knowing that our lives are actually worth it and that they actually have a purpose. Sure, let’s not focus on this moment right now. The only moment that we’re living in. Instead let’s worry about what happens after we can’t make decisions. Humans are great, huh? The truth about people based on what I see is that we would rather have our fates in someone else’s grasp. Completely out of our hands. It’s just so much more comforting that way knowing that I don’t have to worry about what’s gonna happen to me. My point is not to bash religion or hope or comfort. It’s to realize that all we have is this moment right now.
Don’t spend your time worrying about what’s going to happen in the afterlife, instead live in this present moment and do what makes you happy. Because in reality you only have one of two options. You either get bust living or get busy dying.
Instead of asking the question what happens when we die let’s ask the question what happens when we live? When you don’t fear death and learn to embrace the reality of it, that’s when you’re free from your binds. That’s when you can start living.
As always guys, love and peace.
